In the past two years since I've begun releasing music, I've learned a lot, and among those many things, I've learned better ways to mix and master. When I first started, I didn't quite have these skills to the degree that I do now, especially not when releasing my first two(ish) projects, "home sounds" & "arsenic // lilies." Both of these releases mean a lot to me since they were the first collections I felt confident enough to release under my alias, Modsy Voxynth, and I don't think their original versions gave them as much justice as I can give them now. That's why I've decided to revisit them and give them a lot more space to express themselves and exhibit the worlds I had envisioned for them in the first place.
I haven't altered them to be unrecognizable; I mainly tweaked their BPMs to be more in tune as well as tweaked the reverb, stereo imaging, and volume levels while recording them in more of a "performance" as opposed to a snapshot of the finished product. This remaster isn't perfect and I don't think there is a "perfect" version that could exist of them. They were made when I was relying heavily on tutorials and still finding my footing as a musician. Even though to this day, I am still heavily experimenting with my sound, I think this remaster gives the series much more life and room to exist as exactly how they are: a journey of feeling lost, angry, and afraid. Venturing outside of your comfort zones and exploring the world around you, both near and far. Finding family, healing, and home.
